The manufacturers of the essential carriage parts (wheels, body, springs) were also the suppliers of Buick Motor Company, which relocated from Detroit to Flint in 1903. Soon after that, William C. Durant became its director and consolidated all manufacturing forces under one enterprise.

This is how the almighty General Motors was born in 1908. Flint became the center of car manufacturing, hosting Chevrolet and Buick divisions.
